Haku

Haku is the newest addition to the cottage clan.

He was brought home by Noo and he was so wild, and his coat so matted, that for the first of the three months I tried to tame him I never realised how desperately starved he was. Neighbourhood enquiries told me that he lived on the river bank and it turned out he had made a rat hole his home. I heard that there had once been signs up advertising a lost cat but all attempts to find his original owners failed.

Finally, Haku chose to make his home with us and a desperate vetinary effort by one of my dear friends saved his life. Under all that matted fur he was injured and absessed and painfully thin.

Nine months later Haku is a handsome, debonair, and playful furperson of great character. He loves to be with me so much that frequently he chooses to come with me to the park, the shops, or to friends homes for a visit. He enjoys making faces at people in other cars when we are at traffic lights. If I walk Doogs near the house Haku often walks neatly shoulder to shoulder with him.  There’s really something extra special about this guy and I consider his arrival in my life to be an incredible blessing.
